Not much well-being for the hirers

A COUPLE that my partner and I met at a lock at what they told me was known as Heartbreak Hill told me of your site if I want someone to complain to, writes Peggy Trimble.

I was complaining to the woman about the weather and particularly the wind that was getting us stuck time and time again against the side, but as obviously an 'old hand' she taught us how to keep away from the side to which the wind was blowing at locks, of which as very new to the game we had no idea as the hire company, as expected, only told of the joys of boating and we had decided on the boating holiday after reading of the well-being it caused to make us happier and healthier.

Such rubbish

How people get away with such rubbish I don't know and it is this I wish to complain about as there is not much well-being on a cold rainy and windy day on a dismal canal, and as to making us happier and healthier, they should not be allowed to get away with it, for none of us four in the two boats were very happy and as to healthier, I wouldn't be surprised if we ended up at least with a  bad cold.

Well-being? Not much! And we were pleased to pack up for the day, and there was not much well-being or even courtesy from those shouting at us as the wind took our boat into theres, they in 'Tribune', not having the sense to realise it was the wind, over which we had no control.

A con

We are both back home now, and that was our first and certainly our last attempt at getting that much vaunted 'well-being' from the canals. I don't believe there is any, and it is nothing more than a con to get such as us to spend our cash. I hope you print [publish] this as it is heartfelt I assure you.
