Lack of water on Leicester Section

HERE we go again—the Leaking Leicester is closed again due to lack of water.

Just like last winter, what could be named as the Leaking Leicester, its Section is closed owing to its leaks that failed to get repaired, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Lasted most of the winter

It was in September of last year that we just missed that stoppage though lack of water that lasted most of the winter, and though work was done around Kings, Blue Bank and Whetstone locks (pictured) to stop leakage, obviously it was not enough as Canal & River Trust state the waterway is closed to Whetstone.

This time however, with all the rain, we are assured that it will only be a short stoppage and could be open by Wednesday. But as to the future...
