SUCH was the popularity of the drowned student Tom Jones, that a large amount of tributes were left at the bridge over the Severn in Worcester.

But in removing them a spokesman for Worcester County council revealed that a memorial to the university student will be created on Sabrina Bridge when it is refurbished next year, Alan Tilbury reports.

After a night out

The 18 years old University of Worcester student's body was discovered in the river eight days after he went missing after a night out celebrating Freshers' Week.

The bridge became the focal point for friends and family with many leaving tributes.
