Steering clear of the summit level

READING Victor's comments on your trip i am glad that you have seen the difference in the Garrison and Camp hill sections, writes Dave Carden.

However i am disappointed that you recommend that people steer clear of the Camp Hill to Knowle summit level. I agree that tree detritus and silt are pretty bad and it does need to be raked and dredged—but where doesn't?

Traverse this section

I moor in this area and traverse this section very regularly and always nag/report to CaRT about it and will do so until something is done about it. I have been told that it is on the list, but I have not been down the weed hatch at all, just clearing the prop with a bit of reverse now and again. But it can be slow going in some stretches especially bridges 78 to 84 but some of the sections are very good!

It is not helpful to anyone concerned to recommend a boycott to any section let alone this one, the more boats that use it the better.

Report to CaRT

I hope Victor has sent his report to CaRT because the more that do it we may get something done about it.

We must all keep reporting problems to the local offices and the head office—the more we all do it the more chance there is of something being done about the problems we face, rather than just saying don't go there!
