Hope again for Worcester Severn bridge

Published: Thursday, 22 February 2018

IT WAS nine years ago that narrowboatworld carried the story of a new pedestrain/cycle bridge over the Severn at Worcester.

But it did not come to pass as the cost proved too expensive.  But now, if Worcester City Council’s new budget for 2018/19 is passed, there is chance such a new bridge will actually be built, Alan Tilbury reports.

A current bridge

Though there is the current bridge over the river, the South of the city does not have such a facility, but it depends on what the council decides to spend its money on.

There is the possibility of fountains and wild flower meadows and a host of other ideas, but coucillors say they are detarmined to have a new bridge this time.
