More plans for Ickield Port Loop
IT WAS way back on 2013 that we published news of the development of Ickield Port Loop on the BCN (Massive BCN development) that came to nothing.
But a completely new scheme has been put before Birmingham City Council completely transforming the derelict former industrial land, Alan Tilbury reports.
Connects to the Main Line
Backing on to Rotton Park Reservoir on the Loop, that connects to the Main Line beyond Brindley Place, the new scheme includes 207 houses and flats in terraces taking up the 37 acres.
Some of the terraces will face the waterway whilst most face on to gardens shared by the various dwellings, with phase one of the development now before the city planners.
Reminiscent of Georgian streets
It has been stated that the scheme will be reminiscent of Georgian streets and squares in the West End of London, but on a reduced scale. Here's an artist's perspective:
