Secret Santa for families in financial hardship

THIS year Dudley Canal & Tunnel Trust are running a project called Secret Santa in partnership with local organisations who work with families in financial hardship.

Santa Boat TripsThe Trust is offering a free family ticket to see Santa to give to a family of their choice. Secret Santa aims to bring some Christmas magic to families who might not otherwise receive anything this Christmas.

Nominate families

This includes 10 families from a range of local organisations, from schools to children’s centres, that have taken part in the project and nominated a family in need to receive this special gift, with one of the organisers enthusing:

“Secret Santa has been such a lovely surprise! We were thrilled to be able to nominate a family to enjoy a Santa boat trip this Christmas. For families that have had a really tough year this trip will mean they can spend time all together as a family and enjoy some festive fun.”

The Santa Boat trip will take the families through a magical underground world of festive fun. They will be music, a family fun pantomime, and the chance to meet Santa in his enchanted underground grotto, with Holly Wain, Heritage Activities Assistant at Dudley Canal and Tunnel Trust commenting:

“This has been such a great opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer. We work with many different local organisations who work with families who may not get the chance to celebrate Christmas together. It’s brilliant that we can support these organisations and share our special Christmas experience with families in need.”
