Continuous moorers upset

I have just met a couple of continuous moorers, who are most upset at not being able to moor at Atherstone [Coventry Canal] for a couple of months, writes Sid Haworth.

They were moving up to Atherstone to moor for a couple of months by the town, nice and handy with water nearby, while the locks were being repaired on the flight, using it of course for their excuse for not moving.

Stoppage shortened

But the six weeks closure they were depending on to give them the excuse for a long stay has been shortened from six weeks to just 12 days.

So it looks like they will have to find another stoppage.
