THE New Lane Swing Bridge (31) an the Leeds & Liverpool Canal at Burscough is out of action and the navigation closed.
The barrier was damaged in yesterday's (Tuesday) strong winds and so is at present inoperable, Keith Gudgin tells us.
It is however expected that a replacement barrier will be installed today.
