Boater arrested for manslaugter

THE boater involved in the mooring argument at Garstang on the Lancaster Canal earlier this year, as reported in narrowboatworld has been arrested, and remanded on bail to await trial.

The incident concerning mooring space led to the death of fellow boater David Tweddle.

When he appeared at Preston Crown Court David Shiels denied the manslaughter of David Tweddle, who suffered a heart attack after the incident  and died. The trial will take place next January.
