Good news about funding grant, [Crofton steam engines] maybe CaRT should chip in a good amount so that they have a reliable pump if their 'Reliable' electric pumps fail.
I remember when visiting a good few years ago on a steaming day that they said that at one time when the electric pump failed, BW asked the volunteers if they bought them coal could they run the steam pumps.
The pumping station people said yes and so the canal was kept open with no problems enabling the electric pump to be properly repaired.
