River Canal Rescue wants your vote

THE River Canal Rescue (RCR) is asking people to vote online for the company and help it win the People’s Choice category at this year’s Midlands Family Business Awards.

As a finalist in the Awards’ Best Small Family Business, Employer of the Year and Service Excellence categories, RCR is automatically entered into the People’s Choice category, but it will be business supporters, rather than an independent judging panel, who decide its fate.

Service for inland boaters

Since launched by husband-and-wife team Trevor Forman and Stephanie Horton in 2001, RCR has become the UK’s largest national 24/7, 365 days-a-year breakdown/emergency assistance service provider for inland waterway boaters.

Alongside breakdown/recovery, RCR supports members with replacement parts, home start, crew relay, annual inspections, maintenance services, an online chandlery, courses, boat transportation, route planning tools, access to marine engineering specialists, insurance claim support and finance options. There’s also a diesel injection subsidiary, Key Diesels and WaterNav (inland waterway SatNav).

Only 40 votes difference

Last year only 40 votes separated the People’s Choice winner and runner-up so every vote counts. There’s one vote per email address and voting opens on 2 October and closes on 31 October. Click here to cast your vote for RCR. The winner will be announced on 9th November at the Derby Velodrome.
