Snapped-off lock beam at Hillmorton

LUCKILY the single locks at Hillmorton are paired, as a lock beam has snapped off one of the locks, so the navigation is still open.
The beam on Lock 2 was in such bad condition that a boater attempting to use is broke it off, putting the lock out of action.
Still in operation
Luckily, as the locks at Hillmorton are paired, the one by its side is still in operation.
Strangely, Canal & River Trust states that in addition to Lock 2, both Lock 4 and Lock 6 have also been closed, which is totally unnecessary as the locks are completely separate not being part of a flight, with boaters able to choose which of the paired locks to use.
