More problems for Aire & Calder

THE Aire & Calder Navigation is closed again, this time at Lemonroyd Lock.

It was discovered yesterday that one of the rams on the gates would not work so the lock is out of action, Keith Gudgin tells us.

It seems it is a complete failure of the mechanics as engineers are at present attempting to source parts to carry out the repairs.

The picture shows our boat 'lost; in the massive lock, that was of course built for heavy freight, that alas has none now.
