Plenty of activities at Ellesmere this weekend

 THE Ellesmere Summer Festival will not only see canalside activities but the town itself brimming with things to see and do.

Running from tomorrow, Friday, then Saturday and Sunday, over the three days there will be a craft market and art exhibition featuring work created by local talented artists using a variety of mediums, staged in the town’s market hall, Alan Tilbury reports.

Model railway exhibition

Then on Saturday and Sunday the Ellesmere Model Railway Club will host its exhibition at the town hall with around 20 layouts of various gauges on display, together with trade stalls and refreshments.

Activities will be also be centred around the canal wharf and the historic canal workshops, with canal traders and decorated narrowboats.

The festivities will include a local real ale beer festival and a classic car show as well as a dog show—so plenty to see at this town on the Llangollen Canal.
