Walsall Canal balance beam replaced

THE Walsall Canal has now re-opened after a new balance beam has been fitted to the top lock of the Walsall Flight.

It was this lock where the balance beam was sawn off and then the replacement balance beam was subsequently also sawn off, but now replaced, with the navigation open, Keith Gudgin tells us.

Watching the area

People are watching the area in case the vandals strike again, as it is proving rather costly having to replace the sawn off balance beams.
